Unfortuntely, the Microsoft Windows Media Player native to HPCs is not capable of playing .wmv files, unlike its Pocket PC cousin and, so far, no one has been able to come up with a stable adaption (aka 'hack') to overcome this annoying limitation. Still, all is not lost for those who would like to utilize multimedia files on their HPCs. For audio/video playback on HPCs, HHU recommends The CoreMedia Player, an open-source free/donation-ware media player, which can play a wide variety of files, including DivX,, MPEGs, MP3s and Ogg Vorbis. Try it out, and if you like it - and I'm confident that you will - be sure to shoot the developer, a guy from Hungary by the name of Gabor Kovacs, a few dollars/pounds/euros via his PayPal link! |
